Teachers are starting to have end of year Zoom celebrations with their students, and this is definitely a different way to close out the year! Also a reminder that Thursday, 5/21 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. we will have one more round of curbside pick up at GJM for items left in the classroom/lost and found. Items not picked up by the end of the day will be donated/disposed of. If you picked up during previous dates you do NOT need to come back through, as there are no new items. Thank you!

Personal Item Pick Up at GJM A reminder that Thursday, May 7 from 2-6 p.m. and Friday, May 8 from 8 a.m.-noon you will have the opportunity to pick up your student’s personal items left in their classroom. Items will be bagged and labeled with your student’s name. Please drive through what is traditionally the bus lane and we will bring your child’s items out to your vehicle. If you can pop a trunk or roll down a rear window we will work to have minimal contact during curbside pick up. Lost and found items will be on racks on the sidewalk located by our traditional parent drop off lane. You will need to exit your vehicle to retrieve lost and found items. We ask you to maintain appropriate social distancing during this time. If you have medications you need to pick up, our school nurse will also be available during these times. When you arrive, please pull into the traditional parent drop off lane at the front of the school, call her at 776-1683 and press option 3, and she will gather your items and bring them out to your vehicle. Students may keep library books until we physically reopen the school building. Thank you for all your patience and support as we navigate through this time together. We are working hard to be helpful in every way, and take pride in every day, because that’s the GJM Way!
GJM families, please access Skyward to view your child's 5th six weeks Progress Report. 1) Login to Skyward. 2) Look at the right hand side and click on Portfolio, or click on the plus sign and then click on Portfolio. 3) Once in the Portfolio look for the GJM Progress Report PR5 and click on the document. If you need help logging into Skyward email email@example.com. If you have any questions about grades or can't access Skyward, please let your child's teacher know. We are still accepting assignments, and we want all of our students to finish the year successfully!
Ingleside ISD is committed to updating the grading policy during our time of distance learning by weighing all options before selecting the policy that is most beneficial to our students. The first step is to assess student grades by replacing the "Missing" assignments with the number grade of Zero (0). Students will continue to have the opportunity to complete the assignments. Skyward will provide parents and students with an overall average for the 5th six weeks reflective of their grades prior to Spring Break as well as the distance learning. Please work with your child to get their "Missing" work turned in. Teachers will be inputting zeros in Skyward on Wednesday, April 29th.
With the recent decision by Governor Abbott to close schools for the remainder of the year, we are having to make adjustments to our grading procedures. During our time of closure, students have been completing assignments. Now is the time to ensure your students have submitted work and received a grade. We will be using the work submitted to determine if your student will pass for the year or will receive an incomplete. If your student receives an incomplete, they will be expected to attend summer school (either in person or virtually depending on our circumstances). Please reach out to Mrs.Thompson if you have any questions. firstname.lastname@example.org

We hope everyone is safe and well this Tuesday! To help support your online learning needs, the Ingleside High School parking lot by the softball field now has WiFi that should support any device.
Good morning GJM Families! Thanks to everyone who came out last week to pick up your student's instructional materials to support remote learning! The GJM building is now closed. The materials you received include everything you need for remote learning, so GJM will NOT need another pickup time. Each Monday through Rermind 101 or email your child's teacher will send you new assignments using the materials you already have, so no need to leave the house! We are so very thankful for all of the support our families have shown our staff, and we wish you a safe and healthy first full week of remote learning!

Dear Ingleside ISD Community, Given the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, Ingleside ISD will extend the suspension of normal district operations through Monday, April 13th in an effort to support our nation’s need to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Our health officials report that cases are continuing to spread in the state, and even though we do not have any confirmed cases in our county, the testing process has increased and expectations are that positive results in our county seem likely. Suspending operations for this length of time will allow us to determine, in coordination with local health officials, whether the virus is continuing to have community spread or whether it has been contained. We are coordinating with other school districts in the county and will use the week of April 6th to make any decisions on whether there is a need to extend the suspension further. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has outlined the need for all communities to implement a social distancing protocol. We want to reiterate a request to our broader community to take the following reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of the illness: Don’t shake hands Wash your hands regularly Limit movement within the community, especially avoiding crowded places and maintaining 6 ft of distance between people (at least an arm’s length) If you are moving around in the community, don’t congregate in large groups For those who have traveled to areas with known COVID-19 cases – both inside and outside of the country – we ask that you self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms. Students who have traveled should plan to stay home for two weeks after arriving home. Please contact your campus to let them know. If you suspect you have symptoms of COVID-19, call your health care provider for medical advice. Keep your child at home, if he/she feels ill, even if you think it is just a cold. Do not leave the house if you are ill, except to access medical care. This is a quickly changing situation, and we will continue to monitor information, will assess conditions throughout the week, and will provide the next update by April 8th via our website and email. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we ensure that all members of the community in Ingleside ISD stay safe and healthy. Free Breakfast and lunch will be available from 11:00 A.M -1:00 P.M. throughout our school closure for all students to pick up at the Ingleside Primary School. We have also created a Wi-Fi hotspot at IPS parking lot for those students using their district chromebooks who do not have Wi-Fi access at their home. Troy Mircovich Superintendent, Ingleside ISD

In order to support our working parents we will be adding a 7-9 a.m. time slot to get instructional materials here at GJM, so times will be Wednesday-Friday, 7:00-11:00 a.m.,1:00-3:00 p.m. and 5:00-6:30 p.m. If none of those days or times works for you, please get in touch with your child's teacher via email and we will work out a plan with you!
March 13, 2020 Ingleside ISD has been closely following the media reports and information shared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Texas Department of Health Services, Texas Education Agency, and local entities about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Out of precaution for the ongoing concern with coronavirus (COVID-19), Ingleside ISD will be extending Spring Break through March 16-20 for our students as we assess the situation in our community. This decision was not made lightly, and we understand the change may cause an inconvenience for some families. ALL central office personnel, administrators (including directors and assistant principals), maintenance and custodial staff are required to report to work Monday, March 16, as normal. ALL teachers and instructional staff are asked to remain in the local area and anticipate further direction from supervisors. While our students and staff have been off for spring break this past week, our maintenance and custodial staff have been conducting intensive cleaning of the schools. This is our common practice during breaks from school, but they have definitely enhanced this cleaning during this particular spring break. Ingleside ISD is asking for any students or staff who traveled to China, Iran, specific European countries (see list), or South Korea over Spring Break (or any additional countries added to the CDC Level 3 list) to follow CDC guidance and stay home for 14 days after you return from your travel. Ingleside ISD continues to monitor the CDC’s List. Updates will be emailed to parents and guardians via the email address listed on file in Skyward Family Access. Individuals may update their email address by logging into Skyward. Updates will also be provided at www.inglesideisd.org or through its Facebook page. Ingleside ISD leadership and the Board of Trustees will continue to remain in constant communication with state and local health officials and the Texas Education Agency. The District would like to thank our parents, staff, and community members for their patience and understanding during this time. Please continue to care for yourself, family, and those around you and adhere to the preventative measures as recommended by public health officials, such as limiting interaction and practicing social distancing. According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are simple steps everyone can take to help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses like COVID-19: • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. • Avoid close contact with people who are sick. • Stay home when you are sick. • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces. Sincerely, Troy Mircovich, Superintendent Ingleside ISD Ingleside, Texas 78362 · P.O. Box 640· 2664 San Angelo · Phone (361) 776-7631 · Fax (361) 776-0267
