Teachers are starting to have end of year Zoom celebrations with their students, and this is definitely a different way to close out the year! Also a reminder that Thursday, 5/21 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. we will have one more round of curbside pick up at GJM for items left in the classroom/lost and found. Items not picked up by the end of the day will be donated/disposed of. If you picked up during previous dates you do NOT need to come back through, as there are no new items. Thank you!

Personal Item Pick Up at GJM
A reminder that Thursday, May 7 from 2-6 p.m. and Friday, May 8 from 8 a.m.-noon you will have the opportunity to pick up your student’s personal items left in their classroom. Items will be bagged and labeled with your student’s name. Please drive through what is traditionally the bus lane and we will bring your child’s items out to your vehicle. If you can pop a trunk or roll down a rear window we will work to have minimal contact during curbside pick up.
Lost and found items will be on racks on the sidewalk located by our traditional parent drop off lane. You will need to exit your vehicle to retrieve lost and found items. We ask you to maintain appropriate social distancing during this time.
If you have medications you need to pick up, our school nurse will also be available during these times. When you arrive, please pull into the traditional parent drop off lane at the front of the school, call her at 776-1683 and press option 3, and she will gather your items and bring them out to your vehicle.
Students may keep library books until we physically reopen the school building.
Thank you for all your patience and support as we navigate through this time together. We are working hard to be helpful in every way, and take pride in every day, because that’s the GJM Way!

Ingleside ISD is committed to updating the grading policy during our time of distance learning by weighing all options before selecting the policy that is most beneficial to our students. The first step is to assess student grades by replacing the "Missing" assignments with the number grade of Zero (0). Students will continue to have the opportunity to complete the assignments. Skyward will provide parents and students with an overall average for the 5th six weeks reflective of their grades prior to Spring Break as well as the distance learning. Please work with your child to get their "Missing" work turned in. Teachers will be inputting zeros in Skyward on Wednesday, April 29th.
With the recent decision by Governor Abbott to close schools for the remainder of the year, we are having to make adjustments to our grading procedures. During our time of closure, students have been completing assignments. Now is the time to ensure your students have submitted work and received a grade. We will be using the work submitted to determine if your student will pass for the year or will receive an incomplete. If your student receives an incomplete, they will be expected to attend summer school (either in person or virtually depending on our circumstances). Please reach out to Mrs.Thompson if you have any questions. maria.thompson@inglesideisd.org
